4th of july cake


July 4th is a very special day in America. All over the country, people gather with family and friends, eat ridiculous amounts of food and alcohol, and watch elaborate firework shows all to celebrate the birth of the United States. This year, the US is turning 239 years old - and I decided, when you put up those kind of numbers, you definitely deserve a birthday cake. For this year's celebration, I made a red white and blue splatter cake covered in tiny edible stars and adorned with a red ruffled fondant border. While part of thinks this cake looks like a 2nd graders art project, the other part of me kind of loves it. But either way - Happy Birthday America.
