After a pretty emotional weekend, I thought I would kick off this week with something fun, bright and full of sprinkles. This Tie Dye Cheesecake definitely fits into all of those categories.
I feel like cheesecake is one of those things you either love or your hate. There are not many people out there who have a "meh" feeling about cheesecake. But no matter how you feel about eating cheesecake, you have to admit this one is pretty to look at.
But if you happen to be one of those people who love cheesecake (like me) I think you will be pretty happy with this recipe. I switched out the traditional graham cracker crust for a confetti Golden Oreo one, and topped the whole thing off with a simple whipped cream and sprinkle topping! It's simple, delicious and pretty! What more could you ask for?
for the crust
for the filling
for the topping

I have done similar tie dye cheesecakes and have sprinkled Nerds candy on the top of the whipped cream to give it a different texture and a little bit of sour to counteract the sweet. Makes it a fun addition, especially if you’re making it for kids or teens. Thanks for the recipe. Love the idea of the golden Oreos instead of the traditional graham crackers.
I love the idea of adding a new texture! Brilliant :)
Hello, I am going to try this recipe out. Has anyone in Australia made this recipe and can give me some tips..especially about the golden oreos...what can I use instead?
Hi Cassie. Do you have graham crackers? You can totally use that as well.
Did you use gel food colouring? It’s delicious but it was very hard to cut, not sure what I did wrong.
Yes, I used gel food coloring. I am glad to hear that it was delicious. What do you mean it was hard to cut though?
I can't wait to make this! Would butter work to grease the tin instead of cooking spray? Also I don't have a springform pan just a normal one, would this still work?
Hi Kirsty! You can totally use butter to grease the tin! And you can totally use a normal pan - but i is going to be pretty difficult to get it out of that kind of pan. It will still taste delicious, but I'm not sure how nicely you will be able to cut slices with it still in the pan. If you want to do it this way, my suggestion would be to freeze the cheesecake once it is done baking and then cut it into pieces (without the topping). Then place the pieces on a baking sheet (you can add the topping here) and cover it with plastic wrap and keep it in the fridge until you are ready to serve.
My father, who is very particular about his cheesecake, loved this! And the colors looked awesome in the final product!
This makes me so happy! I am so glad he liked it!
Hello. I love the look of this cake. I have made many of different cheesecakes.. So I really wanted to make your idea. But I put my little spin on it. My husband is a big fan of Brownie's. This time I made it with a Blondie brownie.also my other spin is that I cook mine desserts on a grill. It's on the grill as I type. Yours looks so pretty. Hoping mine will look great to. Thanks for the idea. #kamado_girl
Hi Susan! These sound like great additions! I hope it turned out amazing!
Thank you!
No problem! Enjoy!
Hey There! Silly question....but is the Oreo crust with the creamy middle or without? :)
Not a silly question at all! The Oreos include the cream on the inside!
When I first seen the picture of the crust, I thought it was Rice Crispy Treats and I thought Wow that is a Great Idea! So what do you think of using Fruity Pebbles Rice Crispy Treats for the crust? I think I just might have to try it with your Adorable Tie Dye Cheesecake recipe.
That sounds like an amazing idea! I just don't know how it will bake. But if you do try it, let me know how it works out. It sounds delicious.
Could you leave out the eggs and do it no bake style?
Hi Jade! I have never tried doing that with this recipe before, but you can try the no bake cheesecake recipe I have here: http://www.sprinklesforbreakfast.com/sprinkles-for-breakfast/mini-no-bake-patriotic-cheesecakes
It's delicious and super easy!
Beautiful cake!
Thank you!
Okay, how stinking cute is this!? I LOOOOVE that golden Oreo and sprinkle crust, and can't wait to see the look on my daughter's face when she sees the color swirl! Gorgeous!
The Golden Oreo crust is soooo good! Your daughter is going to love it!
This is gorgeous! Especially love the sprinkles in the crust. I know it was a tough weekend for you, but you do a great job finding a task to make you ... and those around you ... smile. Thank you!
Hugs,
Lee Ann
