august 2015 food holidays

I think the majority of people walking on this earth enjoy holidays. Of course everyone has their least favorite holidays (cough valentines day cough), but I think the general consensus is people like them. And holidays really are great...but you know what is even better than a regular old holiday...a food holiday. That's right, an entire day dedicated to FOOD.

I am all about the food holidays. I even did a Food Holiday Round Up in January where I gave you guys a list of all the most important food holidays throughout the year. But sometimes in life, you need a little reminder.

So this is your reminder. But it gets better - every month from here on out I will be posting a round up of all the food holidays in the upcoming month. So now, not even the "little guys" will go unnoticed and almost every day you will have a legitimate excuse to eat something delicious. Here we go....keep on scrolling for the August Round Up.

Besides being National Peach Month, some highlights include National Ice Cream Sandwich Day (which you can celebrate with these Malted Milk Ball Ice Cream Sandwiches or these Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches), National S'mores Day, (where you can indulge in these S'mores Cookies), National Chocolate Pecan Pie Day, (we added some booze in our's with a Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie Day) and finally NATIONAL WAFFLE DAY.

Lindsay Nathanson - Baker and Author

I might be the only person in the history of the world that has ever been grounded from baking. That's right. When I was a teen, it wasn't the computer, or the phone or the tv that got taken away. For me, it was the unsalted butter.
