Also, I know chocolate chip cookie preferences are very subjective. I am a soft and chewy kind of girl. So with that in mind, here are the results…
7. @chipcitycookies - good thick chewy texture. But very lackluster overall.
6. @sevengramscaffe - great texture and fantastic other cookies - but I thought the chocolate chip needed a little something more.
5. @_mamannyc_ great flavor with the soft center and crispy edges.
4. @lamercerieny great flavor with a nice addition of sea salt and caramel in the center.(Does it count as a chocolate chip cookie if you add caramel? In my mind…no. It makes it a completely different cookie. But everyone puts it on their nyc cchip cookie list - so it’s here.)
3. @radiobakerynyc - this is probably so high just because this is my favorite bakery in the city. So the experience as a whole is VERY high. But this is just a very solid chewy chocolate chip cookie.
2. @levainbakery this was a difficult choice because if you get it warm from the store and eat it right away…it’s pretty basically impossible to beat. But since we did our taste test all at room temp, this one got put in second place.
1. @dominiqueanselworkshop this was a complete shock for me…but it got number one from 3/4 of our taste testers (including me). It has great flavor and the texture is so soft and chewy and just really delightful overall.
Shoutout to a non-chocolate chip cookie. The black and whites from @essabagel were fantastic!
